ParentVUE FAQ

ParentVUE FAQ

Do I have to go to my child’s school to get the information necessary to create a ParentVUE Account?
Yes. We want to make sure that your child’s information is secure, so this needs to be an in-person transaction.

I never got around to activating my ParentVUE account last school year. Do I need a new activation code?
Yes, the codes had expiration dates, so you will need to visit the front office of your child’s school to obtain a new code.

What do I do if I forgot my login information or I feel my account has been compromised?
A:  You can request a new password from the ParentVUE login page. If you continue to have difficulties, contact your student’s school office as soon as possible to make arrangements for ParentVUE account reactivation. Please bring photo identification to the school at the time of the request. This protocol is established for the safety/security of the student records.

Can I change my ParentVUE password?
Yes, you may change your password directly on the the ParentVUE login page by clicking the "Forgot Password" link.

How come grades are entered every few days for one of my children, whereas for my other child, it’s less frequently?
Given the variety of classroom and instructional reasons, some grade books may be updated more frequently than others. For example, due to the complexity of the assignment and the time it takes to ensure that the scoring is careful and thorough, some assignments, such as research papers or special projects, may take longer to grade than others.

I’m concerned about the fluctuation from day to day/week to week when it comes to my child’s overall grade. Why does it change so often?
Course grades may seem inaccurate or fluctuate from day to day/week to week for several reasons:
  • Early in the grading period, there may be fewer graded assignments, and so occasional high or low grades will have a greater influence on the cumulative grade/score.
  • Teachers may have weighted some assignments more than others – so certain assignments may count more heavily towards a cumulative grade.
  • Teachers may allow students to redo an assignment in certain circumstances. Assignment scores and cumulative grades may increase as a result. Or it might just be that updates, changes, or corrections are being made to the grade book.

Whom should I contact if I have a question about the information I see on ParentVUE?
Grades for class assignments during the current semester: Talk with your student first. If you still have questions, you may call your child's teacher or email him/her. General attendance questions should be directed to your school’s attendance clerk (front office).

Additionally, parents/guardians will also be able to update their contact information along with registering their student(s) each year by using the online registration form available in ParentVUE. How can I navigate from one child to another within the same ParentVUE account?
All children linked to a parent in the District will have their names listed in the menu at the top of the ParentVUE homepage. Click a child’s name to view his/her information.

My spouse and I are separated/divorced. Can we get another username and password for our student’s account?
